It was dark under the trees
Unbound in abyssal clay
You were the only source of light
Tricking my eyes like the winter’s violet
An idle realm in the fading
Taking shape where your light leaked in
A haloed glow in the winter wind blurred out and alien
It will all slip away
With the pale light of snowfall on your face
Like the dreams you ignore
Lurid as a held close keepsake
Uneasy like the snow on your bare feet
The sound your breath makes when your asleep
You feel so lived in
And I won’t say what I’m feeling
Self-effacing as the light fades out
Familiar tension falls overhead
Lingers in what’s unsaid
The Canadian band present a hyper-present vision of dream pop, defined by romantic longing and surrealistic intent. Bandcamp Album of the Day Mar 11, 2019
Entirely analog, lush melodic pop with a tender heart from L.A. artist Human Barbie sounds bigger than the bedroom project it is. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 22, 2020
The Seams' jangly pop is full of lovely melodic twists and elegant turns-of-phrases delineating the quotidian details of love and romance. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 5, 2018
The title track pulled me into Slow Crush's orbit, but Tremble held me there - alongside Lull from the Hush LP and the whole of Seasurfer's Dive In, it can send me into an altered state of consciousness. The album vibrates with hints and nudges, from Slowdive twangs to a Corgan-esque chord shift, but Slow Crush are their own sound - thick, dark melodic, etherealistic soundscapes with Isa Holliday's vocals both binding the music and rising above it. One of the best bands in years. sentientpoet
